Space/NoSpace was conceived during many boring days of liberal arts college classes when my mind and my pen, prompted by only the finest books, authors, and discourse of Western Civilization, were free to wander …
The name “Space/NoSpace” came about because I our class became renown* for my our urge to illustrate everything that came up in discussion on the blackboard with drawings … sometimes even down to the simplest concepts … Like that of the two alternatives: space between something, or no space between something. For this, my classmate’s illustration was not unlike two pairs of parentheses. The first pair, illustrating “Space” between, like so:
) (
And the second pair, illustrating “NoSpace” between them, were depicted as such:
)(
And so I thought the name, Space/NoSpace was appropriate for this endeavor. My sincerest apologies to all my classmates and professors who had to endure this raffish display.
Anyways, I made many additional drawings, most in the margins of the great books, and then some more recently, that I wish to share with you through this website.
* Rogue hyperbole.
UPDATE: Internet Revisionism! 2011-07-28
According to my classmate’s recollection, she did the original drawing for space/nospace. I’m happy to give credit where credit is due, but I’m still taking the idea and running with it! I don’t have a good memory of the actual incident at the moment, but maybe some day I’ll relive it through hypnosis. The above story has been Internet Revised accordingly!~

Copyright
A note about copyrights… We rolled our own theme for the Site, and much of the Content was written long ago… think 2000-… Remember when we were still all alive after Y2K? Yeah. Please be aware that one of the main purposes of the Content is parody; satire, sarcasm, criticism all play a part as well, expanding upon the original, borrowing from a third party to present an additional, un-thought-of-before angle often of criticism to the public… which is expressly allowed under copyright law.
Books have been written about this stuff. Compare, for example, http://apps.americanbar.org/…/roundtables/0506_outline.pdf . (Incidentally, I’d like to read that book that ‘broadly mimicked Dr. Seuss’s characteristic style to simply retell the [O.J.]Simpson tale’ — that sounds like a heck of a work!) Also, see the alt text on http://xkcd.com/78/ :-) And http://fairuse.stanford.edu/Copyright_and_Fair_Use_Overview/chapter9/9-a.html. And Google many more …
Please contact us right away if you think there is something in the Content that infringes someone else’s copyright by exceeding the bounds of fair use, or if you think someone has infringed the copyright of the content itself. Thank you!
